First Congregational Church in Highland is affiliated with the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference, an association of approximately 250 churches nationwide. The CCCC office is located in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.

We invite you to associate with our ministry

We work together under several auspices. Meetings of the area fellowships, national committees and Board of Directors stimulate a continuous flow of solid fellowship and labor for the Lord. Each summer, we gather for our Annual Meeting. This is a blessed jubilee of worship, prayer, instruction, counsel, and fellowship. Your participation will enhance our spiritual growth.

CCCC History

In the mid-thirties, evangelicals within the Congregational Christian Churches felt a definite need for fellowship and service. By 1945, this loose association crystallized in the Conservative Congregational Christian Fellowship, concerned to maintain a faithful, Biblical witness.

In 1948 in Chicago, the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference was established to provide a continuing fellowship for evangelical churches and ministers on the national level. After several years, during which progress was slow, the CCCC entered a period of stable and healthy growth in all areas. There are now regional fellowships throughout the United States. Scores of churches participate in these groups.

In recent years, many churches have joined the Conference from backgrounds other than Congregational Christian. Some of these are Community or Bible Churches that are truly congregational in polity and thoroughly evangelical conviction, but in many cases have never enjoyed the values of inspiration and cooperation that come in the work that Christian churches must do together. Others are Evangelical and Reformed Churches that have adopted a congregational form of government. Without in any way slighting the great heritage of historic Congregationalism, the CCCC welcomes into fellowship all evangelical churches that are, in fact, congregational. A truly congregational church believes in the necessity of a regenerate membership, the authority of the Holy Scriptures, the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the autonomy of the local church, and universal fellowship of all Christians.
